PRODUCT INTRODUCTION
MBBR media, full name Moving Bed Biofilm Carrier, is a suspended carrier for the MBBR biochemical process. It combines the dual advantages of activated sludge and biofilm. It flows throughout the tank with aeration, and the microorganisms attached on both inner and outer surfaces degrade pollutants in wastewater. Made of brand-new HDPE raw material, our carriers feature specially designed multi-hole structure, providing large specific surface area for microorganism attachment and biofilm growth.
The media has moderate density. It can keep suspended and fully mixed in water under aeration, realizing efficient mass transfer between water, air and biofilm. With excellent acid & alkali resistance, anti-aging property, it can operate stably in long-term continuous running.
WORKING PRINCIPLE
Aeration agitation in the biochemical tank keeps the media fluidized and tumbling continuously. Wastewater, air and media are in full contact. Layered biofilm grows on both inner and outer surfaces of the media: aerobic bacteria on the outer layer degrade COD and perform nitrification of ammonia nitrogen, while anoxic/anaerobic bacteria in the inner layer carry out denitrification for nitrogen removal.
Aged biofilm sloughs off automatically under water flow and aeration. No manual flushing is required, and the active microbial community can be continuously renewed.
